Having grown up in Fiji, Fenton Bose Lutunatabua feels a strong connection to the ocean and the environment. Fenton works across the region in 14 Pacific Island Countries, working hard to reshape the problematic narrative surrounding of Pacific Islanders from one of victimhood to one of agency. He has done this by drawing on the history of his people as ‘Warriors of the Pacific’, standing up for their island homes and everything they represent.

He has a background in communications (Television, Radio, and Print) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Applied Psychology from the University of the South Pacific. Fenton has a long history of speaking out against injustices across the Pacific. He started off his career in the climate movement in 2007 when he joined Greenpeace as a volunteer. He strongly believes that an incomplete narrative is a form of injustice and uses storytelling as a tool to encourage people to stand boldly in their truths.

Fenton is the 350.org Pacific Communications Coordinator has worked closely with Pacific Climate Warriors, leading the Frontline Truths story telling project. The stories that were collected are powerful and have been well-received world over.
